[Moderately early in the morning, because even tempersword and regeneratory are aware that nobody else tends to get up as early as them.

So you'll probably see one or the other around the neutral hallways and the North Wing, trying to find the recipients for their gifts (though Kanda has a noticeable amount more stuffed in his arms). Also don't mind the poor wrapping job.

[Kanda with an armful of Christmas presents is actually quite an adorable sight though Lavi would (probably) never admit it out loud. He takes a moment to just be all teary-eyed and how proud of how his little Kanda-chan had grown up before he comes bouncing over to block his path]

[Lavi currently is decked out in one Santa hat and has a Santa-esque bag for present carrying. Much more efficient then trying to hold on to all of them]

Kanda~ I have a couple more things to add to that present stack. You can consider it part of your training.

I read your horoscope in the paper the other day. It said something rather about being prepared. And then I recalled the big soba shortage of '09, yeah.

This will at least tide you over for a few days while the rest of the Kanda population is trampling each other to find that last package.

[He's kidding. ... Mostly]

Or maybe it will be something that comes in handy on a bad day, yeah.

[Hums a bit] I was thinking of putting in a Swiss army knife, but those can get kind of complicated.

[Soba shortage...] I already have a weapon.

[But setting it to the side of him so he can open the second gift.]

[It was terrible. And kind of horrifying] But it can't do everything a Swiss army knife can. What if you need to open a bottle of wine?

[The impractical gift is a bit of a throwback to the time they first met each other, even if Lavi had come to term with the fact that Kanda has lost those memories forever. Still, Kanda is Kanda, and Lavi imagines that his room lacks a bit of decor (besides what the Almas have put up). And so Lavi had found this set of wallscrolls for Kanda. Something simple, small and tasteful that would make his room feel more like a home while he was here]

[Opens the box and pulls up one of the scrolls to look at it, then another after that. Not that he ever has wall scrolls back at the Order, which is the closest thing to home he has. But he knows what they are.

Does that mean you'll go drinking with me sometime?

Do you usually go drinking?

Only on the really bad days and the really good days. I find it helps level out my mood.

But if you had a really bad or good day and needed a friend, I would happily be your drinking buddy. Make sure you got home okay and all that.

I'm not planning on going out drinking. [Although depending the mood he's in he might not objct to being dragged along as the drinking buddy himself.

Puts the box of scrolls aside and passes a wrapped package Lavi's way.]

[Maybe Lavi will take him when he's having an exceptionally good day. Happiness could be contagious yanno]

[Taking it and holding it up to his ear and shaking it, grinning from ear to ear. Hope it's not too breakable]

[It makes a slight rattle, bot otherwise there isn't any movement. Rolls his eyes.] Just open it.

[And he does like the happy little kid he is. Poor Kanda's carpet is going to be littered in tiny wrapping paper shreds]

Inside of the wrapping paper are two movies: The Princess Bride and While You Were Sleeping.]

I'm not watching those with you. [Just. Getting that out there.]

[Opens his mouth to ask... awwww, Kanda. Why you have to be like that? But he hugs the movies to his chest. All the silly and cheesy romances]

Even if it was a double date with Alma?

What do you need a "double date" for? [Whatever a double date is...]

To spend time with one of my friends, yeah. If Alma comes, will you?
