[The selected few will hear a Rhode's laughter echoing down the hall sometime during the day. She sounds delighted in an evil sort of way, a tone that continues when she speaks:]

Tradition gathered from afar,
Tradition changing those that are,
Normal, yes, to stories old.
Bind them long until the story's told.

Rhode laughs again and those that Read more... )

SLEEPING PRINCESS mottling July 5 2011, 06:00:24 UTC
[About half an hour after Rhode works her magic, Madarao makes his way silently to one of the neutral areas. The entire room has been re-decorated in the style of a medieval castle -- stone walls covered in rich tapestries, the elaborate scenes woven into them made to seem almost alive under the flickering light of several torches. A plush red carpet splits the room in two, long banquet tables loaded with food lining each side. Looks like some kind of feast is meant to be taking place, though the room is mostly empty save for a handful of occupants. Dressed in his Crow robes (they appear to have suffered a patchy dye job performed with an excess of black writing ink, rather hastily going by how he's leaving wet trails of it behind him) and a pointy witch hat he has procured somewhere (let it not be said that Madarao isn't the resourceful type), he employs every last bit of his training to slip inside unnoticed, then eyeballs the... proceedings... from a shadowy corner of the room.]

[Hark! What is that noise o'er yonder? Why, it is the bellowing of a grown man! One General to be exact as Tiedoll, makes his way over to Kanda, wielding his Innocence like a fairy wand and wearing large costume wings sprinkled with handfuls of brightly colored glitter on his back]

Oh my poor, poor Yuu-kun. Destined to befall such a horrible fate at such a young age. While still so full of life. Still so full of hope.

But not to worry, my boy. I still have yet to bestow my blessings upon you.

[Well, the truth of the matter was that no one had bestowed any blessings upon the country's fair princess. But never fear, for Fairy Tiedoll was full of enough good-will and sparkle to do the work of three fairies. And do that work, he shall! Right at this moment, in fact]

[With a shower of glitter, Tiedoll raises the Maker of Eden high into the air, preparing to bop Kanda over the head with it]

Maybe you should have watched who was coming in. [He's the closest thing to guard they have...

here...

Stepping the fuck back.] Wait--what are you doing?! [THAT LOOKS VIOLENT.]

[Still advancing] I'm giving you a blessing to counter that awful curse, Yuu-kun. Death by soba is a horrible way to go.

[Nooooooooooo.

But, he also doesn't really want to die. So he reluctantly stays in place.]

[And one tiny bop on the head. See, that wasn't so bad]

Instead of dying, you will simply fall into a deep slumber until you are awaken by love's true kiss.

[Though in retrospect, Kanda may have death a much more appealing option]

--Why couldn't you just get rid of it completely? [THIS ISN'T MUCH BETTER.]

Ah, my boy, you'll understand when you're older. [As in he'll understand that magical fairy powers are no match for Thirds with dashing wizard hats]

[Tiedoll smiles warmly as he reaches over to pat Kanda on the shoulder]

Now, all you have to do is stay away from soba, and you'll never be affected by the curse.

[So simple, really]

Can't you at least make it something besides soba? [He doesn't want to avoid soba that's so unfair.]

[Tiny hint of a frown. It's always something, isn't it?]

I've already made the counter-wish, Yuu-kun. You're just going to have to work with the pieces you've been given.

Now, aren't you going to enjoy the party? It's in your honor.

What's there to enjoy? [You took his soba away from him, that was the only saving grace of this party. He doesn't even like parties.]

[Friendly, fatherly push toward the other people at the party]

How about getting to know the people of your kingdom better, Yuu-kun? They may surprise you, and you might surprise them.

[Pulls away and huffs.] Not interested. I'm going back to my room.

[Because now his mood is totally ruined. Turning to storm right out.]

[Well, here's a sight sure to improve Kanda's mood. Madarao has switched his hastily dyed garb out for his usual red and gold, complete with his Crow's hat, veil drawn. He's sitting behind what looks to be a soba booth-on-wheels kindly provided by the DR, a large spinning wheel not so inexplicably built into one of its sides.

Oh, and its parked right on Kanda's doorstep.

Madarao is never this obvious but uh, you always see these things coming from a mile away in fairytales while the characters remain incredibly dense. Here's hoping it works just as well in real life. If not, violence may have to be applied.]

[Be so glad he has no idea what a spindle even is, or your plan (and identity) could not have been more obvious.

But as it stands he just stops and stares, no small part bitter because he can't eat it anymore. Although it's also staring out of confusion, because while his memories of this castle (or of being oryalty at all) are foggy at best, this looks really out of place.

It's also in the way of his room.] What are you doing?
