[There is an open door leading into a nicely-furnished bedroom in this neutral hallway. The bed is made, bay window open to let in the interdimensional summer breeze; shafts of afternoon sunlight filtering in and playing off the specks of dust, making the hardwood flooring gleam ( Read more... )

[Ignoring all everything ever and just strolling in.]

[Well, now he has her attention. The way she flinches back has little to do with the new edge to his expression; it's his apology that's blindsided her. She almost feels as if those two words, 'I'm sorry', have bodily clotheslined her.]

[And then, instead of stopping and going back to being cocky, sarcastic, Tyki, he keeps on talking, and the frayed look on her face deepens until it pretty much looks like she's barely holding it together.]

[Palely:] You're actually asking me to kill you if you become human?

No problem, we have plenty of human flesh and jellybeans to feed him! 1year_wakened June 18 2011, 08:44:15 UTC
Yeah. 'Cause it'll fix things, not because I particularly look forward to not breathing.

[Slightly confused by her fragile expression.] ...Problem?

[Her curled fingers twitch a bit. Yes, there does happen to be a problem.] I'm not a murderer. I can't kill any more people.

Okay, listen. It wouldn't be murder, exactly, because I'd come back, right? 'Sides, if you didn't then I'd just have to go find someone else, and it'd be a giant bother.

[He doesn't see the issue here! >:]

[Of course he doesn't.]

It's still a human life! [And she's already taken several of those.] Is the idea really so horrifying to you?

[But dimly, in the back of her mind, Lenalee might even be laughing a little, because this... this really would be a repayment. For everything. Killing a human who would want to die regardless of how much she doesn't want to, in order to make up for killing so many that she never should have touched.]

Ish! Human-ish. On a personal basis we could be aliens for all you care, Memory or not, yes?

And being human isn't the same thing as losing your Noah-- it's the second I object to. [Which is confusing but just go with it; it makes sense to him.]

[...Exasperated motion. For a tiny instant, he finds himself suddenly wanting very much to go home.] Filosofia é uma vadia. This has nothing to do with anything.

[Flinching at that look.] Okay, fine! Fine, I'll do it-- I'll kill you if you lose your Noah.

[Just please don't lose your Noah.]

[Faint grin.] ...Oh. Well alright then, deal.

[But he pauses at her flinching.] I'm not gonna do anything.

[A small miserable nod. Yeah, a deal. A deal with the devil, feels like. And, sorry Tyki, but... first impressions and everything. Different versions or not, it's still all too easy to compare an expression like that to what she's seen at home. The grimace on her face stays riiight where it is.] Why not? Why are you so friendly to me?

[He can't understand why she would be unwilling, of all things, to kill him, of all people.]

I haven't even met you- or probably any of your friends- in my world, forget about fighting, and as far as I know you haven't personally killed anyone I love.

...What, d'you want me to start plotting your demise and announcing my undying hatred of you all the time? Because that's really weird.
