[Tonight was promising to be a quiet night in the dressing room. The Tykis may be lounging in the miscellaneous bars and pubs, and the Allens are probably curled up in piles of blankets. Who knows where the Crosses are, but that's nothing new. And Lavis? Well... they're probably head-first in a book, drooling and getting ink on themselves. Yes, ( Read more... )

["Who turned out the lights?" might be the first question. The halls looked similar enough to the endless twists and turns and changes this place is known for. Even the windows showed boxed in courtyards with invisible fences. Though, on closer inspection, it isn't exactly dark. No, instead it seemed as if someone had scrapped all the color from the area and left behind only gray mush that blurred at the edges.

Actually, there was one bit of color in the hallway. The footsteps made by your passing. Flower petals of bright pinks and purples stretching endlessly behind.]

[The shadow form only sinks lower into the blades that dart back and forth across his form as the wind kicks up again. A crack of thunder sounds overhead as clouds move to blot out the sun.

He can not answer her question for Dreams does not know. Instead, he walks forward through the barrier between sand and vegetation. As he crosses the threshold his form changes from shadow to that of the person she is looking for, but he is as gray as Neah was. Road is the only color on the beach.]

[Really, she isn't sure who she was looking for, whether it was Tyki, or Allen. Does she have to have one? Why not both? She barely casts the dimming sun any notice, however, as the new form takes shape on the beach.]

Tyki? [But why would he be Tyki, when he was just the Fourteenth? Nevertheless, Road drops the bottle, paper, and pen, and starts darting forward.]

[Tyki puts both hands on Road's shoulders when she gets close enough. But he is only a creation of the dream just like the Fourteenth was. It has form and shape, but not the warmth that one would expect from a real being. But regardless of that, it embraces her as the clouds turn black and rain begins to fall.

There is another half dozen empty footsteps in the sand before the form of Allen crafted from shadow before becoming his own shades of gray picks up the bottle. It turns into a small, wooden, sailing ship in his hands as he turns to regard the other two.]

[Her face pulls into a frown when she feels his hands on her shoulders, and takes a few steps back. This isn't right. Something about this isn't right.]

[Is Allen only a shape, too? Road turns toward him, hands clenching as she starts making her way through the sand.]

[Allen gives her a grin as she walks forward. One she's probably used to seeing. He is a shape as well, but if she tries to touch him he'll move out of the way heading down toward the edge of the beach to place the boat in the water.]

[She stops as Allen moves away, and glances back in Tyki's direction. Whether or not Tyki - her Tyki, not one of the others - is still standing there, it doesn't matter. Tyki is a shell and shape, and Allen keeps turning away, and she's in the middle of it.]

[Family behind, enemy head, and no where to go.]

[A breeze picks up, ruffling her hair and skirt, and she flops down into a heap in the sand. She runs her hand over it, allowing for a small yellow flower to poke through the surface.]

[Allen stays by the shore as the boat heads off toward the horizon. It glows a bright orange before dipping off where it can no longer be seen. He looks back at her as he still kneels by the water, but doesn't approach.

The other form comes behind her in the sand leaving no footprints in his wake even if the rain wasn't washing them away. He stands behind her, but doesn't move to sit down in the sand with her. Instead, she'll feel a small weight on top of her head. It nearly doesn't fit being made for him rather than her, and the brim of it blocks out part of the sun along with Allen from the chest up.

The flower feels soft against her hand and begins to grow larger and large until is resembles a sunflower.]

[Where to go, and how to get there? The dream isn't obeying her, like it should. Even for this Road, not knowing where to go, how to get there, and feeling so utterly alone is becoming increasingly unsettling. Allen keeps moving away, and Tyki --]

[She doesn't look up when she feels the hat rest on her head. Instead, she runs her fingers over the flower's face, before plucking a petal free.]

[He loves me. -- whoever or whichever "he" she's thinking of, she's not specific -- He loves me not.]

[As the petals fall one by one to the sand, they shift in and out of existence like a badly recorded tape. The Dream itself being confused how to continue. How to serve the one that it has held it for so many years. Did it still want to serve her?

Waves wash up onto the shore and just reach her toes before receding back again. Allen's pants are drenched up to his knees. The grass is gone from behind. The sun ahead only shows a gaping hole in the sky. As if the Dream itself is starting to come apart at the seams.]

[He loves me... he loves me not. She watches as the last petal falls into the sand, before her face pulls into a frustrated scowl. Road casts Allen one more look before climbing to her feet and whirling around to face Tyki from under the brim of his hat.]

[Where are you? It isn't a question that she asks out loud, but instead, she reaches for his coat and grasps it between her fingers before giving it a harsh yank. Who knows if it's enough to knock him off his feet, but it does result in her burying her nose into his coat and breathing in as deep as she can, as if looking for the smokey, ashy smell of cigarettes.]

[The figure doesn't fall over, but only stumbles back a few steps at her sudden charge. He doesn't answer her unspoken question as thought no words are uttered, it's meaning hangs clear in the air. He kneels down so Road can wrap her arms around him better.

But the smell of smoke fills the air. It isn't the smell of cigarettes, but of burning fields. The horizon towards the building and the grass is thick and heavy with smoke despite the rain. Though, instead of orange flames dotting the horizon, it is purple and black not unlike the power of the Earl and some of the other Noahs. Her Dreams. Joyd. And the smoke created by the twins for their attack. The only color besides her flowers and it reflects in Allen Walker's eyes along with the waves.]

[There's a distinctive snap in the air, a change in pressure. Atmosphere. A tell-tale lurch. Road is done following the dream; it's her turn to lead it. In the distance, there's the crackle of flames - a forest fire whipping across the countryside. It lights up the tall grasses, although there isn't any heat. Ash and ember drift into the sky like glowing flower petals - and, really, they might as well be - and she let her head fall back to look up at the gathering clouds turning a blood-red ( ... )

[Trickles of sand hit the checkered floor. In the darkness and the quietness compared to the roar of the burning before, they sounded more like bricks being dropped rather than pins. It reverberates around the room.

Tyki gets dragged in first, and Allen follows behind. Though, as he enters the room, his outfit turns into an old coat with a handkerchief wrapped around his head. Tyki puts his hands behind his back and looks up at the ceiling. He looks at Road with a "What?" kind of expression. As if asking what she is trying to get at.

In her realm, the two seem more real. Probably fueled by her own memories, but she can still tell that they are her creations and not the real thing.]

[Despite the familiarity of the place, it isn't quite right... not quite like the real ark. Different things - portraits on the walls, doorways, chairs - don't seem to be of the proper proportion. In some ways, it's as though she's trying to piece together what little she remembers of the Ark, from before - and yet the memories aren't quite lining up ( ... )

[Allen seems to be distraught over the skeleton with the red ribbon. He rushes over to him and peers over the bony shoulder. He starts speaking a mantra of 'that's mine' over and over again. When he tries to reach for it, he pulls his hand back as if shocked or bitten. He does this three times. Each time the action is completed, his eyes change from their original color to a deep gold. Had the green bandanna not been around his head, the markings of the Noah would show more clear. But his skin doesn't change tone or get darker. It keeps its normal peach color.

Tyki's lips turns into a frown and disregards Allen and the skeletons. As far as Road can tell, he can't see them. He walks up to the table and pulls out a chair. The chair situated in front of the silver button. He flicks his wrist and a large purple Tease comes out from it. He walks back over to her to tie it to her hair like one would a flower or ribbon. He motions for her to sit down in the chair. There is more. Here. Let me show you. She'll feel a tug at ( ... )
