[In a hallway, somewhere between the southern wing and one of the neutral wings, there is a Kanda sitting on the ground, propped unceremoniously against a wall. Her coat is in tatters around her - oh boy, that's going to leave scars, Dressing Room or not - and she's absolutely covered in dried blood.]

[Her eyes are also open, as if staring at the ( Read more... )

[Who better indeed. He'll even light a cigarette and sit down in the mess near her body. He can be patient.]

[One of her hands - the cleaner of the two, but still rather caked with blood - is resting on her lap. The fingers give the faintest twitch - a spark of life.]

[It's a lot like one of those moments when you're stuck between dreaming and waking. Paralyzed, but partially aware.]

[The next sign of movement is the faint way in which her eyes seem to fall into focus. Any moment now, any moment...]

[He moves a hand to hover over her hair for a moment, then just pulls back and leans against the wall. Blood is so messy. It's amazing how much of it the human body holds. How it really does seem to get everywhere.]

[Doesn't seem to mind that he's sitting in the worst of it either.]

[For all intents and purposes, it looks like she had bled out in the worse kind of way - there's blood everywhere. Dried, mostly, or at least still rather sticky, as blood tends to get. Whatever it was that tore into her, it tore her up bad, and it's likely the deeper scars won't fade.]

[Her fingers twitch again, as well as her eyes -- and all at once she sucks in a wet, gurgling sort of breath. Choking on old blood? Quite possibly.]

[Doesn't usually pause for the dead, but, for this he does.

He tries to walk around the worst of the bits of crusted blood and other stains on the wall and floor to kneel without knees touching the ground.

He rests a hand on her forehead and moves them to close her eyes.]

[Good luck trying not to get messy - there's blood everywhere. Whatever tore her up, it tore her up in the worst way. Tyki probably won't notice the way her fingers give a faint twitch as he kneels in front of her, but it's possible he'll feel her eyelashes twitch faintly, after they close.]

[She's almost awake. Almost. There's more (very) faint movement in her fingers - brain telling the rest of the body to wake up and smell the roses.]

[He pushes his hand against his knees and stands. Aware of the twitching? Probably not, but even if he was, he wouldn't stick around anyway.

Corpses were supposed to stay cold.

He steps over her body and frowns as shoes get caked in even more blood.]

[And all at once, she brings in a wet and gurgling sort of breath, and then another, lurching forward to bring up the blood she's choking on and whatever else was caught in her air pipes. Nasty.]

[It's followed by a sudden scream; not unlike some poor soul being tortured. As though all the pain of dying and coming back is catching up to the body all at once, Hi! Welcome back to the realm of the living, Yuu~]

[Like moths to a flame, yes? Be careful to not get your coat dirty - there's blood everywhere, and some of it is still sticky.]

[At the moment, though, the only sign of any kind of life whatsoever is the faint twitch in her fingers. She'll be waking up any moment now, any moment.]

[She blinks. Once, twice.]

[... and all at once she drags in a nasty, wet, and gurgling sort of breath. Choking on old blood? You bet.]

*He's trying not to throw up. Yuu, what the hell did you get yourself into?*

[Let's not get into that right now. Instead, the fingers on her hand resting on her lap twitch slightly with the first sparks of life.]

[He's probably not paying attention to that, though, not with the blood everywhere.]

*Nope, still over here trying not to throw up. Trying to move without stepping in blood is impossible, but that doesn't mean he can't try. Even if every step makes his stomach lurch.*

[Her fingers twitch again, eyes falling into focus.]

[And all at once she's bringing in a wet and gurgling sort of breath. Choking on blood? Most likely. Kanda lurches forward, bringing up a nasty mix of blood and whatever else was accumulating in her lungs.]

[He doesn't have a readily available excuse for why his hands are shaking like they are, so he tells himself they're not. Instead Bookman carefully closes her eyes, before standing straight again and briefly wondering if he should get her to the clinic now or not.]

[There is a hand resting on her lap, blood and dirt under the fingernails. One of the fingers twitch slightly - the first sparks of life.]

[It isn't unlike those times between dreaming and waking when one is paralyzed, but still partially aware.]

[Any moment now, Bookman, any moment now.]

[He catches the twitch, and that's ultimately what leads him to the decision to leave her where she is. He kneels down in front of her... And waits.]

[All at once she leans forward, bringing up a nasty mix of blood and... whatever else was likely accumulating in her throat. Nasty. It's followed by a rather inhuman scream of pain - dying isn't painless, no matter what they say. And all the pain is catching up to her all at once.]
