Horror Hall redux

Oct 19, 2010 04:10

[Now this wasn't the room you were looking for, was it? Unless you were looking for a casino.]

[The carpet is red, with black and yellow patterns in it. A little garish but not eye-popping. To the left is a bar and stage, and up ahead is the main floor, filled with row on row of slot machines and gaming tables--tables for everything. Poker, blackjack, roullette, you name it. The lights aren't too bright, but they're not dim either. The air smells of cigarette smoke and alcohol.]

[There's music all around, clashing. The little chime of the slot machines begging come spin me, try your luck and the background noise of canned music from speakers on the wall and ceiling.]

[In the back of the room across the sea of slot machines, is a staircase leading up, probably to a hotel portion. And behind you is the door you came it. Funny thing about it though, try to leave and you won't be exiting into wherever you last were.]

[The really eerie thing about this casino is, despite all the lights and music and general electronic activity in the place, there's not a single human sound. Not a clink of glasses or shuffle of chairs from the bar. Not a peep from the game room. No sound of footsteps or gaming, no talking, no winning or losing, no coins rattling in the slot machines.]

[It's to be expected, since you appear to be the only person in the large casino, but at the same time, there's not even an echo of human presence--it doesn't seem like an abandoned hall by any means, especially with the scent of smoke still lingering. But there's certainly no one here but you. Not even an echo of another living being anywhere nearby.]

[Do you try your luck at the slot machines? Or maybe help yourself to the bar. Then again there's the stairs to explore. Or perhaps the aura of isolation and that creepy feeling at the back of your neck compels you to leave the way you came.]

((OOC: Revamping my way of doing the Horror Hall this round. Please fill out this form!

Warning: Threads in this post will contain graphic violence, monsters, cannibalism, dismemberment, possible reference to any number of triggering things, and in general horror, blood and gore.

As far as timelines go, especially involving the murder plot, you can consider the threads in this happening and ending whenever--past or future--so it doesn't interfere with involvement in that plot.))
