[Very pregnant and... giving the white butterfly a very unusual look. I-is that Innocence?]

... where's the fire?

[Careful, little turtle; the butterfly doesn't make an exception for cute things when it comes to biting.]

[He smiles at that.] However it happened. When you're not being trapped in hallways and courtyards, what do you do these days?

[Not like it can't disappear into its shell >: Still, it just keeps lazily eying the butterfly.]

[Kanda, meanwhile, sighs at herself.] Try to avoid the legion of idiot rabbits here. Yourself?

[The butterfly wouldn't be hard to damage, but it's meant to destroy Akuma. It can probably hurt a turtle. It will just continue fluttering around as long as it isn't threatened, since that's all it's been told to do.]

When you're not trapped in this place, I meant. Here, I just try to find anything interesting.

[Well, Butterfly, you get off easily this time. The turtle has decided it's not as hungry as it thought.]

[She rubs a small circle over her stomach, not looking at him. She'd known what he meant, really. But. If there was a Kanda in his world, more likely than not that Kanda had been an experiment. Just how much did he already know about that? If he knew nothing, she doesn't want to be the one to explain it.]

Hunting rogue Akuma.

[He knows that Kanda has those healing abilities, but nothing about the experiment. He quirks an eyebrow when she won't look at him, but doesn't comment.]

Oh? I'm surprised there are any left.

[Still not looking at him; she's rather preoccupied by the circle she's rubbing over her stomach. Comfort gesture? Who knows.]

There aren't. Not really. [There really isn't anything left for Kanda, is the underlying tone. When you're built for war, and that war is finished. If he can hear the underlying tone.] The job is almost done.

I see. [He notes an underlying tone, but he doesn't entirely understand it; he knows the feeling of losing what you've known, but not the same way.]

... What will you do when they're gone? Settle down somewhere with your child?

[Sideways look.] Assuming I ever go home?

[Which isn't really an answer.] And the war in your world?

Let's assume that, yes. [He's curious, but he'll let it go. For now. Though a good part of him wants to push for the sake of it.]

[He 'hmm's for a moment.] Still going. Most everyone is fighting in Edo, some of us on the Ark.

Edo... [Thinks for a moment.] That was years ago.

How did it end for you?

Every world is different. How it ended in mine won't bear anything on how it will end in yours.

[She pauses, though, and lets her head rest against the gazebo railing again.]

Walker defeated the Earl, but he lost his arm.

... Is that so? Odd trade.

Not so odd, considering he lost the Noah, too.

[But. No details.]
