[having two arms would make this easier, yes. Kanda's glad that they finally managed to find Lavi's arm, though he has no way to express it]

Kanda's having a bit of an issue with putting the border pieces together, but not because they're blank. it wouldn't make a difference if there were images on them or not]

he's being rather patient with this puzzle in spite of looking like a child. but of course, he's not really a child. he won't mind if Tyki helps him put the puzzle together, though.]

Yes, a picture! Puzzles usually have an image on them. So you put the pieces together to know what the image is.
