[ the noah's bookman is out in some nondescript neutral courtyard. practicing the elementals with his dark matter hammer was pretty much out of the question (no reason to give himself away just yet, right?) so he's just got an ordinary bamboo staff. He's pretty proficient with it, twirling it about in a very controlled manner (after all, he learned it while training with monks). with news of that recent challenge to the countess, lavi wants be prepared if observing turned to defending himself. they just didn't know he was capable of using elements like his exorcist self can.
