MOD POST yay!
I have a few things to touch on so buckle up! I'll also be linking this in the main community in just a few. This post is important and includes a poll for which I'd really love some player input, so give it a read, please!
First things first: a huge thank you to Kalorii and Bright for all the work they did to make the DR the awesome place it is. If I'd started this thing myself it'd have keeled over years ago; they did a fantastic job getting it off the ground and running smoothly, and keeping it so for as long as they possibly could. They both have my gratitude and respect for everything they've done for us. ♥
Second: about the rules. I know they've just been updated with stuff we last went over quite some time ago, whups. At the moment, don't worry too much about them. This is a period of transition, obviously; we've just lost 2/3 of the mod team, including the head mod/creator of the DR. I am not, for the time being, going to be extremely strict or looking to implement major changes, because I need some time to work all of this out too. In other words, don't worry about the DR changing much (if at all) for the time being. The rules we worked out, I think, were created with good reason, and I won't be throwing them away or anything; some restriction is necessary in order to keep this a DGM dressing room and to keep everyone comfortable! But the most important thing is to have fun and to ease into things. So, tl;dr, don't get nervous about the new rules or think I'm going to rule you all with an iron fist. I'm going to be especially lenient for the time being, and the truth is that I am relatively lenient anyway. :B
Third: VERY IMPORTANT. I am aware that things in the rules need rewording and tweaking and all that. I am holding off on doing this for now for one important reason: I NEED A CO-MOD. I am choosing not to make any changes or implement anything big until I have someone else to run things past, so that the two of us can check one another and bounce ideas around!
For those of you who were here at the time, you might remember that I was elected moderator by screened vote after posting a public application, drawn up by the then-mods of the DR. I plan on taking applications for moderators again very soon (by which I mean, they'll open this week). Here's my question to you guys:
Would you rather vote on a new mod, or have me appoint one?
Last time, the apps were posted by the players publicly in the comments of a post, and then in a different post, with comments screened, players placed their votes for the person they wanted to become the third mod. Voting is thus anonymous to the playerbase but not to me, by necessity, because I have to be able to make sure everyone voting is a player and is only voting once. XD
I was going to do that again, but first I want to ask you guys whether you're more comfortable with that or with me appointing a mod. The application process WILL BE THE SAME either way. I will publicly post the application, and players who are interested in being my co-mod will fill it out and post their responses. The difference will be whether those apps are then (anonymously) voted upon, or whether I make the decision myself.

Be honest; I don't want anyone to worry about my personal bias in choosing a mod, but I also don't want y'all to feel uncomfortable about being put in the position of voting for someone.

2. I will update the userinfo with better contact info for me.
