DGM Dressing Room and DGM Dressing Room OOC Rules

D.Gray-man Dressing Room Rules

· D.Gray-man characters only, please!
This means that only DGM characters will be allowed to play within the Dressing Room. Please do not ask if characters outside of DGM can be played here. The answer will always be no. Simply giving the character a DGM name but leaving them with their original appearance will not change this rule.

· No original characters (OCs).
There has been some confusion to this rule so here it is clarified and summed up:

- Absolutely no OCs are allowed. This includes canon OCs as well which can be very subjective. Character building is fine but you should have something to work with that resembles their personality in canon. Simply that a character exists in canon does not make them a playable character in the DR. For example, Kanda's mystery woman exists but we know little to nothing about her. Wisely is a character that has a name, face and an obvious personality therefore he is a legitimate character.

- Doujin characters who don't exist in DGM canon will not be allowed. Doujin versions of canon characters are allowed. As an example, you can take a character from a doujin which has a different storyline and make them follow that storyline. Any characters that do not appear in DGM canon will not be allowed to be played regardless of whether they're canonmates to doujin characters or not.

- AU characters are allowed but please remember not to stretch the no OC rule. An AU character can have a different background than canon characters and, as a result, be different. Use discretion in exactly how much you're changing and make sure you're not simply creating a new character who is the opposite of who they are in canon. This can also apply to character swaps (i.e. - Allen taking the place of another character in another fandom). Always consider the character's personality when creating an AU. For example, having Kanda take the place of Harry Potter from the Harry Potter series and acting exactly like him wouldn't be acceptable.

- One-shot crack characters are allowed since they would only be played once for fun. If you do decide to create one of these characters, please contact the mod team so we are aware.

· Don't start wank or put down other people's characterizations.
If someone has a "How's My Driving" post in their character journal, use it if you have grievances. Do not post on dgmdr_ooc or in OOC comments on their Dressing Room posts to give them critiques. Something that is only meant to stir up drama will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

· Posts go in dgmdressroom not in your character's journals.
You can post as often as you like but remember moderation. Having five posts in a row dedicated to your character is still considered quite excessive.

· This comm is het/yaoi/yuri friendly.
We welcome any pairings!

· Remember to mark anything that is adult in nature (note + member lock).
It's fine to forget now and again but we'll remind you if something is not marked properly. This is important and, if this rule is unheeded, it's possible your post could get deleted due to not following the rule.

· Try not to copy other's ideas.
We have many tags and the community memory that you can look through before you create another alternate universe. Remember to look through them to ensure you're not simply copying someone else outright.

· Don't "godmode".
"Godmode" is where you take control of another person's actions without their permission. This can lead them to have to play out something in such a way that they find uncomfortable. For example, if you are doing a fighting scene, give the other person a chance to react.

Doing it wrong: Allen curled his hand into a fist and aimed it at the Noah, landing a blow on his cheek.
Doing it right: Allen curled his hand into a fist and aimed it at the Noah, hoping to land a blow on his cheek.

Always ask permission before you take control of a scene and if someone tells you not to do something, please respect their wishes.

D.Gray-man Dressing Room OOC Community Rules

· Post as often as you like but within reason.
We won't stop you from posting a post a day. If you need to post more than that, please remember that this isn't your personal journal to voice everything you think up. Less is more. :3

· Lock and note anything that is considered adult.
Just as with the dgmdressroom, it's recommended you f-lock anything that could be considered adult content as well as note it (via cut, preferably). Failure to comply with this rule will result in your post being deleted.

· Put images behind a cut.
While this is a mostly aesthetic reason, it limits the amount of loading on a page and ensures people aren't exposed to something they aren't interested in. Also, please remember to limit the amount of images you put in a post.

· Advertising is okay.
It's perfectly fine to advertise something on the comm but make sure that it's relevant to the comm itself (such as looking for castmates in an RP). Please don't advertise excessively.

If you see anyone breaking these rules, contact one or all of the mods that are listed on the profiles of both dgmdressroom and dgmdr_ooc.
