I've never tried photocopying or scanning notes from my tablets. Perhaps I'll do a test run at some point, but I'm content with transcribing, which is what they did at the time. While tablets are a bear when in low light, they're immune to battery failure; your real worry is when you do have to wipe them clean, since the spatulate end of the stylus isn't a perfect eraser. Some folks run their tablets in the oven for a spell, but it's tricky to do with a 2-faced middle memory extender. I'll have to ask Miguel from the Spanish Peacock, who made my tablets, for his suggestion.

Maybe you could try an iron with a sheet of paper between it & the wax surface?

You might be able to do a light pencil-rubbing to get something with enough contrast to scan. The consistency of your wax would be an issue, though.
