Konstantin's used to intimidating, but he's more familiar with the cool, aloof and elegant type of intimidating. The big and bristly sort of intimidating is completely alien to him, and Konstantin is impressed. He's a bit slow sometimes, so he hasn't yet realized that he's staring, open-mouthed.
