*looks both a bit startled and a bit taken aback, not because she's unhappy to see her but because she definitely didn't expect her and she's still dressed in what are essentially, to her, men's clothes (though they're presumably tailored for a woman) -- but after a moment's hesitation, there's a bright smile* Katie!

Oh, you've seen her? I'm pleased. *partially because he's relieved he doesn't have to explain everything, but* Quite well -- for the most part, the people here have been wonderful and I've had whom I believe to be the best of guides showing me everything I ought to know.
