There is a boy standing outside scratching confusedly at a shaggy head of blond-streaked, brown hair. The facial hair makes him look a little older than he really is and he's got a pair of those blue eyes that could be pretty telling one way or another - either he's an angel baby or he belongs to a certain Hades who has apparently attempted to ( Read more... )

*you might think he wouldn't like him, given his parentage, but on the contrary, he'll look delighted to see him, hence the huge grin* Mattyyy.

*grins right back* Xathanael! You have no vowel sounds that are easily lengthened. Unless we use that last e. Xathanaeeeeeeeeeel. ...that sounds weird. Maybe it's just me.

No, it sounds weird. *wrinkles his nose, thinking* Unless you want to give me a nickname, which I refuse, I think you're out of luck.

Well, damn. Oh well. I think I can handle sticking with Xathanael. Simple enough.

*slightly taken aback by the combination of the name and the eyes because he was so sure he'd met all of the spawn of his father and said father's angel, but -- something is very wrong here*

*instead of asking just now, he'll offer a hand and a faintly sheepish but genuinely friendly grin* 'lo, Matt. I'm Joash -- Hawke. Or Hades. Or, possibly, Hawke.

*blinks a little at the name but then grins back and shakes the offered hand* Well, hello, Joash HawkemaybeHadesmaybeHawke. Pleasure to meet you.

Not at all! It's a pretty standard question. I suppose the technical answer is that my dad is Cocytus Hades and my father is the archangel Gabriel but, beyond that, it gets a bit convoluted and more than just a little confusing.

*studies him and is very likely to note some sort of familial resemblance -- he's grown used to looking out for that (sadly, he says)* Hi, Matt. I'm Mephistopheles.

*one side of his family being that of Cocytus, he's kind of stopped looking for resemblances because, likelihood is, he'll find at least a vague one* *he'll just smile* Hi. You have the same name as that other guy. I'm hoping you're less frightening.

I try not to be overly frightening. It's bad for the angelic image.

Yeeah, it tends to be. Unless you're the sort who tends to call down the Heavenly wrath or whatever. Then I guess it's a part of the job description.

*studies him veeeeeery carefully, though she's not quite looking at him* *after a moment* You're Michael's brother, aren't you?

*bliiinks* Uh. Maybe? I don't know. Which sounds kind of stupid but I've got a reeeally big family.

So does she. Who's your father?

Eh, Father is the archangel Gabriel. Dad is Cocytus Hades. That answer anything?
