Welcome, Aria. *takes the hand and shakes it formally* I am Náriel Rainafinwen. There is a library, if you take a left down the second hallway. It tends to be well supplied with whatever is needed; I know many of our University students use it. *--typist totally just made this room exist, yo*

*smiles brightly* Thank you. Have you any favourite books, Náriel? I find that one can ascertain someone's personality simply from the books that they read.

A proper enough way to decide. I read histories, occasionally, and poetry; I have inherited my father's love for Shakespeare. Mainly, though, the books I read deal with the trades I am pursuing.

Shakespeare is marvelous ... even if he is English. *lets out a small laugh, to show that she's joking* Papa tends to promote the Italian writers (such as Dante, mostly), while to simply antagonize him, I recite the poems of Byron, Shelley, and the like, as often as I can.

*curiously* What trades are you pursuing?

*smiles, quite cheerfully, and executes a crisp salute instead of taking Aria's hand* Hi there. So you're planning on building an entire library in your mind? How's that going to work?

-- Oh, and I'm Xathanael Hades. Nice to meet you and so on and so forth. *grins broadly*

*smiles back* Papa and Mama both have mansions built in their minds; it stores all the excess knowledge they gather throughout their life, so at a later time they are able to go back and peruse everything. Papa has a grand library in his, but my building is only a mere cottage at the moment, since I am still young.

*adds, as an afterthought* I like your name; it's original.

*wrinkles his nose* I don't know if Dad ever actually forgets anything. And -- Father, I know he does, but he'll pretend he knows it anyway, so I wouldn't be able to tell. *shrugs* That's pretty ambitious of you, though, so, er, good luck and all that.

*smiles faintly* Thanks. I'm named after one of the more obscure angels.

*with more seriousness than is really needed for the topic at hand* Papa never forgets anything.

*studies her curiously, as the typist is driving on the assumption that divine beings understand all languages, but offers a cheerful grin and shakes her hand* Hi there. 'm Michael. I like your name.

*smiles* Thank you. Papa likes the opera a little too much, I think.

*faint, wry smile* It's much better than being named after a male archangel.

*tilts her head curiously, studying her with the grave, straightforward, innocent air of someone half her age* *then, suddenly* Vous avez oublié le français. *smiles* There's better things to debate than the death penalty.

*smiles back, unsurprised* Oui, cela aussi.

*shrugs* Papa says that all of America's government workers are bastards, so it is better to beat them at their own game, than to be -- how did he put it? -- "caught and cornered by complete idiots". It is all a part of my education.

* -- didn't really get any of that, but apparently knows random phrases in random languages, so*

I wouldn't know, really. And I'm not allowed to be for or against it.

I do not know whether I support it or not either. But why are you not allowed to be for or against it? *tilts her head*

*raises an eyebrow, then, thoughtfully* Nos experitne? Cong ming de.

Mental libraries sound interesting. Planning on a mental computer-based cataloguing system as well? * -- says it lightly, but is in fact entirely serious* Brynne Sedgewick, in any case. *shakes her hand*
