"Ma?" She looks up from her book, face wrinkled into a frown, and gets up, wiping dirt off her dress. There is always dirt on her dress, kind of the way her long red hair is always messily coming out of its braid, or the way she always smells like food.

"Ma? Da?" Hands on her hips, she looks around. "Pedr? Oh, shoot."

There's a green girl curled up in a chair nearby, and she looks up and quirks an eyebrow at the newcomer.

"Somehow, I doubt they're here," she says wryly, and runs a hand through her hair. "Kalyn Thropp. Hi."

"Hi." Ceri raises her eyebrow back. "You probably get this all the time, but--who are you?"

"No, see, normally I get what are you," Kalyn says with a wry smirk. "And I can tell you no, I didn't eat grass as a child, yes, I've always been green, and no, it's not a spell gone wrong, nor is it contagious. And I'm just me. Kalyn. Though I s'pose I should say I'm the granddaughter of the Wicked Witch of the West." She laughs a bit and shrugs.

"So you're just naturally green? My da would love that. He's crazy about things that make folks different."

It's hardly likely to be the book upsetting her, so Castor frowns as he makes his way past. "Is something wrong?" he asks.

"Um, well, in short order, the farm's gone, I don't see Pedr, and just a minute ago I thought someone called me for supper, but I don't see any supper, either.

"Oh!" He slumps his shoulders a little more. "Sorry, I don't know where your farm went and I don't know anyone called Pedr, but there might be some supper to eat."

She laughs and rakes a hand through her hair, her father's gesture, and in his same slightly sheepish manner. "Sorry for snappin'."

"Oh, hello!" They may have met, it being that their parents are friends in whatever strange world it is that they're from, or it may just be Gaenor being friendly. The frantic, beaming waving at an utter stranger would hardly be out of character.

"Lemme guess," Spike says cheerfully, giving her a grin that's amused, but in a more friendly than mocking way. "Suddenly and without warning finding yourself snatched away from whatever you were doing and brought to a completely unfamiliar place?"

"Sure, right on the nose. How'd you know?"

"That's the norm here, looks like." He shrugs a little. "Not sure what about this place attracts it, but the majority of people end up here that way. I'm more or less at home hereabouts, though, so if you need anything, let me know."
