Deven walks in, a broom over his shoulder, scowling at a piece of paper in his hand. The paper has his attention so firmly grasped that it takes him a moment to realize he isn't walking into the changing room ( Read more... )

Dmitri raised his eyebrow, arms folded over his chest. "Well then," he muttered in Bulgarian, "You've finally decided to show your face?"

Bulgarian. Good. At least he can be comfortable in language, if not location. "Show my face where, exactly?" He pauses. "If you are here, Dhyana must be as well."

"Here. Obviously." Not that he liked to antagonize his brother at all. "Of course she is. And the same as always." There was a slight roll of the eyes to accompany that statement.

"I still do not know where 'here' is." He frowns a bit. "I thought Mum mentioned a new boyfriend." He missed the few dinner's Aidan was at. "Did she break up with him?" His voice indicates a sarcastic 'big surprise'.

Aidan had been sitting on a chair in the corner, undoubtedly reading some book, but he startles when he hears Deven's voice. That accent. He'd recognize it anywhere.

He glances over timidly at the new arrival and offers a cautious smile.

Deven spots him, and acknowledges the smile with a polite nod. "You, what is this place?"

"Um..." he falters for a moment. "The mansion. That's what everyone calls it, anyhow."

That accent has got to be Bulgarian, he thinks to himself. "You're not... where are you from?"

"Bulgaria," he replies distractedly, working on digesting the fact that no one seems to know what this place is.

"I wish I could help you, sir, but no one I've met yet is entirely sure."

"How is it possible no one knows where this is?"

She gives him a wry, but kind, smile. "I suppose all things are possible, even human ignorance."

"So I am now in a place filled completely with ignorant people?" He looks at her carefully. "You do not seem so ignorant."

"That you shall have to tell me, sir," Louisa replies cheekily, assuming, of course, that he is referring to the paper in his hand.

"What--?" His frown deepens. "How? I have only just arrived here."

"O, you mean the house. I cannot tell you that, either. I have given up asking, for no one seems to know."

He mutters something in Bulgarian about how ridiculous this all is, before looking back at her. "Who are you?"

"Very good question," Tori replies a little breathlessly -- she's just passing by, distracted by holding tightly to the leash of a rather enthusiastic St. Bernard, who's celebrating the new arrival by all but bouncing around the room. "At the moment, it's a large dog with a great deal of misplaced energy -- heel, you, dammit, what are they putting in dog food these days?"

He eyes the dog for a moment, then extends a hand for him to sniff, lick, or whatever else he might choose. Unless he chooses to bite. If he does, the hand will immediately be yanked back, before the dog gets a chance.

He's polite enough despite his energy, so he'll just be sniffing at his hand briefly before licking it enthusiastically. Tori gives him a wary look before relaxing her hold on the leash a little and aiming an apologetic if bright grin at Deven. "Sorry for him. He'll never learn."

"That is all right." He gives her a brief smile. "I used to have a dog. I still love dogs."
