"One and the same! Hey there, Maura. Glad to see you could make it." Sean's in a good mood -- a really good mood, since his wedding is in thirty-one days (but who's counting?).

"Sean! Been a while. You seem happy."

"I'm amazingly happy, actually. I'm -- " Well why not, she'd find out soon enough anyway. "I'm engaged, actually. The wedding is on December 15th, and you are of course invited."

"Well congratulations, then! Who's the unlucky lady?"

"Well, thanks! And you'd be?"

"Rurik Niska." He holds out a hand, after forgetting for a moment.

She'll shake his hand. "Nice to meet you. Maura Ryan, to be thorough."

And of course, there will be a brother, because he does at least try to greet all of his little siblings. "This would be it. Fun, games, sex, angels, psychopaths, way more family than should ever be allowed in one place, and for a limited time only until he hits on the wrong person, my dumbass kid brother."

And she'll laugh. "At least we can be reasonably sure that the entire family will never actually be here at once, because there's always going to be a new one somewhere."

"Aw, Dad's not that -- okay, yes, he is that bad. At least none of us have kids yet." He shudders. "Can you imagine Ky with a kid? He'd kill it -- accidentally, but he'd kill it."
