Today, Charlotte Bridgerton is exactly twenty-three and a half. She is certain it is October 27, 1845, and she is certain to be proven wrong rather quickly. That isn't what she is concerned with. One strand of her curly brown hair has fallen out of place and so she is too busy shoving it back into place to notice right away in order to get back to ( Read more... )

*well, it's always nice to see someone who looks at least somewhat familiar (though Liz herself is starting to assimilate into this time more and more, as her clothing shows -- not informal, but certainly modern), so she'll give Charlotte her best polite smile* I'm afraid I can't tell you exactly where this is -- but then again, no one I've spoken to can.

*mmm, modern clothing -- which means Charlotte will look briefly confused, but* That's rather interesting. How did you come to be here?

*she might look almost a little sheepish* I'm not entirely certain. One moment, I was home, nearly two hundred years ago, and the next, I was -- here.

*looks more than a little startled now* Two hundred years ago? What year was it that you came from?

*grins cheerfully at her, automatically saluting, as is his custom with new people* Hi! You're in the middle of nowhere, kind of, but actually sort of the middle of everywhere. It doesn't really make sense, but it's okay, you'll get used to it, don't worry about it.

*raises an eyebrow* I don't know that I find that reassuring.

Does it remain secret if you inform me of its existence?

"It is nowhere," Louisa Strange replies with great authority.

Why not? It's actually a pretty awesome place, despite the fact that nobody knows where it is.

Her clothing is certainly something that Caroline is more accustomed to (though still slightly modern in style) which is why Caroline even ventures to speak with her. She drops into a slight curtsy, with a slightly wry smile. 'I do not believe it is Aubrey Hall any more than it is Donwell Abbey -- unless, of course, Aubrey Hall is a eccentric mansion in the middle of nowhere filled with spare rooms containing strange objects and so-called 'modern' inventions.' A slight pause. 'If you say it is, I will be quite surprised.'

She will return the curtsy, because propriety can be adhered to around strangers, at least. "It is eccentric, or at least the people could be termed such, but I don't know that the rest of that is true at all about it."

'Then I will save my surprise for the-' here she pauses slightly, a very telling pause (accompanied by a slight browarch) '-stranger residents of this place. -- Oh dear, I've completely forgotten all my manners. It is certainly a pleasure to meet someone from around my own time; my name is Caroline Knightley.'
