It's already more than half months since Chinen met Yamada. They were like an innocent couple if they were together, bhut they weren't. Too far for that word. It's not like what you think but, the student council Yamada Ryosuke was still in love with his ex-girlfriend, Mayu. Chinen always spotted Yamada looked to Mayu with a deep look, full of love and sadness. The younger one didn't know why but his chest felt so hurt like stabbed by thousands knife in one time. He never felt like this before.
Yeah, Chinen is such an innocent guy who really didn't know anything.
Mayu was really lucky to ever being Yamada's beloved girl (until now, she still being the beloved one too). She's cute and like an older sister for him, at the same level with Yuki. Mayu and Yuki are bestfriends since the 1st grade of High School. Being a cute and mature bestfriendship couple, of course they are popular. She's so kind to everyone and loved to tell funny stories. He couldn't hate this girl; the one who made a big sadness for Yamada. He really can't.
"When I asked him for break up, he immediatelly protested and asking my reason. When i told him my reason, his face changed to a big shocked. Maybe because I said he was too not sensitive towards girl's feelings and acted too cold. I know he really IS a cold cool guy, but for me who loved to talk, it's being awkward. The moment we broke up was the moment he talked much. I have no idea why I could be such a mean, loving more other guy beside my lover. I broke his heart into pieces and that's the worst. At that time, I bowed deeply... crying out, asking his forgiveness. At first he hesitate to answer me but finally he gave up and agreed forcely... I really a bitch that time... A big regret I never could to take out from my heart," she explained to him about her love story with Yamada to Chinen while they were eating lunch together at the rooftop with Taiga and Yuki.
She's too kind. Chinen could see tears began to fall from Mayu's face. When the tears fell to his finger, he could feel a hotness of regretful. His chest was deathly hurt. If only he could make a change...
As the time flew continuely, suddenly there's a big change from Yamada's attitude to Chinen.
The older one who usually came to his class just for having a little chat then never showed up. A cheerful greeting in the morning didn't get any reply by Yamada. Yuki and Mayu even wondered with the sudden different attitude Yamada gave only to Chinen.
"Am I... doing something bad...?" the younger one looked wanna cry as his eyes became watery. "He just avoided me, not the other else. I really don't get him... Being such a cold person he is, I couldn't read what was he thinking. But this is too much, i didn't do wrong but he acted like I'm nowhere. That's too rude after all," here we go, the tears finally fell as Chinen couldn't resist his sadness more than it.
Still he didn't know why he felt like that.
"What's wrong?" Oshima Yuko, Yuki and Mayu's classmate approached them. "Eeeeh?! Why did you cry!?" she shocked seeing the crying Chinen who being hugged by Yuki.
Yuki just smiled warmly, "a little complicated thing for this innocent boy who unconciously in love with Yamada." Yuko just nodded and tried to calm Chinen down. Beside that, Mayu who didn't accept what Yamada did to Chinen immediatelly leaving them.
"Are..? Mayuyu, where will you go?"
Mayu turned to Yuki with a smile, "Please take care Chinen-kun first. I need to do something."
Yuki knew immediatelly what will Mayu do. But now the first thing she should do then was calm Chinen down, "It won't give anny effect. Yuko, please bring Sae and Jurina here!"

"Come in..." the door immediatelly opened and shocking Yamada as he saw the person who just entered that student council room.
"You have no right for acting as a damn ass towards Chinen-kun so suddenly!!! I don't know what's your problem but can you stop that!? You know that he loved you but he didn't realize it yet!!" Mayu yelled.
Seeing a little guilty expression from Yamada, she immediatelly shouted of madness, "DON'T YOU KNOW THAT CHINEN-KUN IS CRYING RIGHT NOW, FRUSTRATION WITH YOUR SUDDEN DIFFERENT ATTITUDE!!!?" this time, Yamada's eyes widened. He dropped a big yellow map unconciously to the floor.
"Cry--ing...?"
But with the angry face of Mayu, he knew that Mayu was damn serious right then. He got a big guilty feeling then. But he immediatelly got his conciousness back, so he took the yellow map and went out from the room, leaving the frustration Mayu inside.
He walked as fast as he can. His mind was having a trouble to process. Mayu's words haunted him. But unluckily, he met Chinen at the corridor. the big guilty attacked him again, Chinen's eyes were red and wet. He took a deep breath and walked passing Chinen. "Chotto matte, senpai!!!" there. Chinen stopped him.
Yamada stood without turned his head, facing Chinen. But for Chinen, at least Yamada heard him.
"Do I have mistakes to you...?" Yamada knew Chinen was resisting his tears. His voice trembled.
"No, you don't."
"But-- so why--"
"I can't forgetting my feeelings to Mayu yet... I don't ready to move on... Although I love you too. But... I'm sorry..." Yamada said without looked at Chinen. "And because that... I should make you far from me. I tried to hate you..."
Chinen knew, 'I love you' wasn't a sentence that easy to tell to someone. But... 'too'? So Yamada knew his feelings? Of course. Yamada wasn't a dumb like Chinen. He knew at first Chinen looked at him of admiring but lately it changed to loving. Yamada had a same feelings like Chinen too, but his love for Mayu was bigger. No answer, Yamada tried to walk, but his foot didn't want to move.
"...Although senpai said you hate, but actually I love you," said Chinen with a warm smile.
Yamada's eyes widened immediatelly. Was Chinen serious with what he said? That innocnet guy? This time Yamada turned his head to Chinen. "...Chii," he faced Chinen. "Do you know what you just said?"
"Of course I know. But it's better to tell you than not at all. At least you know my feelings towards you."
Tears fell again from the corner of Chinen's eyes, shocking Yamada. He immediatelly wiped the tears away. "Don't cry, Chii. Please. I can't stand your tears anymore." he looked to Chinen with a worried face. Chinen just could sobs and nodded weakly.
"...I can't be your lover yet. You are too innocent for that kind of realitionship. I don't want to hurt you. It will hurts you more when we are dating but half in my mind was thinking another person."
Again, Chinen just nodded weakly.
Yamada slowly hugged Chinen softly. Chinen just could sobs at Yamada's unifrom. Slowly, the hug being so tight, "Please give me a time. Until that time come, I'll tell you my answer." then he released the hug, looked at Chinen eyes deeply with a sad smile, then walked away from Chinen. Mayu who seeing Chinen cried loudly when she wanted to go to her class, standing alone at the corridor. At first she didn;t get what happen but with Chinen like that... she could guess what happen and hugged the younger one.
The first love of Chinen didn't romantic like manga, it's tragic. The first love story from the innocent guy.
