It feels strange having a computer again after going without for three long days. Somehow I managed to catch a computer virus (I felt so ashamed! I don't know how it happened), but the computer dude stopped by today and now it's up & running ( Read more... )

Yeah....virus. Right. And it's been gone for a few days, leaving you shakey....

So making a web page in word: easy peasy. You do just save as a web page: that will make the font ugly, and all the headings the same size, and there you go! Looks like a web site. If you want to get tricky you can probably import pictures into word (keep them on the left for real cheesy web site authenticity) and then do the save as web page trick.

What are you doing this for? I am your helpful web design nerd, at your service.

Gosh, but what is a heading, anyway? When it comes to word processing, I am living in 1994. Now, where's that dot matrix printer...

I have to do something like this:

I just now figured out how to make hyperlinks in Word. WOW.

But how do you line them up and make it look tidy? It doesn't have to look fancy, but it's gotta look clean.

(It's probably not nearly as complicated as I think it is.)

(PS, if I would just get to work on it and stop belly-aching, I could probably figure it out. It's the design element that is scaring me so bad. If I could draw it on paper and color it and glue pictures on I would be fine, but with computers I am crap.)

LJ makes it easy, but it took me forever just to figure out how to add pictures & stuff here. And when I learned how to do that much, I assumed that I must be some sort of computer whiz. Unfortunately, this does not seem to be true since my LJ computer skills don't seem to apply to much else.

Dang it.
