My idea to start was a bit different originally - I'd wanted to connect it to when the Dark Mark began burning again, in Goblet of Fire, but it turns out that happened in the winter. Maybe I'll go with that for the winter prompt...

Anyway, this is why I like writing Severus. His emotions are so tight, so close, so reserved.
