Today I changed some water and and cleaned the filters for the second time within a calendar month!! I did a big cleaning last weekend, and followed up with another partial water change this afternoon. I am very proud of myself! If I can ( Read more... )

cayeux is continually amused and amazed (as am I) by the stability of the aquarium. We often go weeks between feedings, and yet the fish are all in fine health. I am a bad fish mommy.

Yesterday I cleaned the aquarium. Now, I've been feeding the fish but apparently not really looking at them for the past few days ... there's an outbreak of fungus among my black neon tetras. :-( I did a cleaning and water change, and treated with a broad-spectrum antifungal/antibacterial. Short version: Old friends of the family used to breed Shire horses. Down at Hideaway Pond they bred black Shires, but in random poking around online I found a descendant of their stallion Garreg William. Illusion Crystal Clear of Ox Kill is a grey, and ... OMG, WANT. This is quite possibly the most gorgeous horse I have ever seen.
