I find this article simultaneously fascinating and hilarious. Anyone out there on my F-List know enough about particle physics or this issue to comment?

Well in theory my 15-year-old undergrad degree is in physics... but... honestly it isn't so much a particle physics problem. I mean it's weird but not actually out of the question for the Higgs to have effects backward in time. I dimly remember hearing about other experiments having similarly unintuitive effects.

It would be really weird for the Higgs discovery to have such wide-ranging impacts but not necessarily impossible.

All that said, I really, really like the proposed experiment.
