Distractions, Distractions, Distractions...

It's no fun being distracted if I can't distract the rest of you, so consider yourself...distracted...

The weekend was full of all kinds of visual entertainment. First on the list:

Zodiac: Greg is a huge David Fincher fan, and hey, you can't go wrong with the genius who brought Se7en and Fight Club to the big screen. And while Zodiac was ( Read more... )

Not to give you even another TV show to watch but BBC did another -- very gritty -- Robin Hood back in the 80s. You may want to check it out. It starred Sean Connery's son.

Hmm. My friend's boyfriend walked out of Zodiac, and my friend said it was a waste of time. I don't know why they didn't like it, though. Robin Hood sounds cool. Pity I don't have cable. -sigh- Have to wait for PBS, if I'm lucky.

It's a really slow, LONG movie. Very well DONE, but there's no suspense, nothing. What holds your interest is the case itself, and wanting to see how and if it gets solved. Greg was fascinated during the whole thing. Me, I kept noticing how long it was, and realizing this movie wasn't playing to my fiction sensibilities. :)

So I can see why some people have issues with it. :)

The more I think about it, Zodiac is like that book I was telling you about. Lots of interesting angles, but no substantial conclusion. You're right, it's still creepy.

I have no desire to see Zodiac, primarily because I know it's based on a real case in which the guy was never caught--with my overactive imagination, that's not a good thing. Hell, I already obsessively check my locks too much as it is. *grin*

And Jonathan took me to see Stranger Than Fiction for my birthday. We both absolutely loved it. Definitely a movie for writers, as well as anyone who simply enjoys a fun, quirky movie.

In life, as shown in the movie, they THINK they know who did it, but thanks to shoddy policework at the time and districts that wouldn't cooperate with each other, evidence was all circumstantial. But the guy that people THINK did it died of a heart attack not too long ago, and the writer of the book (who's featured in the movie), swears he hasn't gotten any "heavy breathing" calls since the man's death (said writer was essentially getting these calls once it was made public that the writer was writing a book about the Zodiac killings). So who knows? The movie will definitely leave you haunted.

You probably shouldn't see it. ;)

Exactly. I'm a little too paranoid for that. :-)

Whoah! I hadn't heard about the new Robin Hood show. Cool!

I'm a Robin Hood junkie too, also thanks to Disney.

I'm sure the BBC America will rerun the pilot a few times before the new episode on Saturday night. :) They're also airing Doctor Who on that channel too! :)
