Got Arthur?

So, I went and saw King Arthur today and totally loved it. Not in a "OMG THIS IS THE BEST THING SINCE LOTR!!!!" way but in a "Oooh, I wanted to be entertained and enjoy a decent action movie and I got it!!" way. Will be buying the soundtrack as soon as it's released at the end of the month.

Course, before I saw it, I kept worrying it'd be another ( Read more... )

I enjoyed King Arthur as well. I've seen it twice now - and since I know less about the King Arthur myth (and aside from T.H. White's Once and Future King, some dabbling in Malory, I know nothing. I didn't read Mists of Avalon, nor do I want to.) than I did about the Trojan war, I didn't care about the historical accuracy that it was toting. It was what it was- a fun summer action movie by Jerry Bruckheimer and Disney. Not as great as PoTC was, but the feel of it was similar. And I'm totally going to get the soundtrack for the beautiful choral sendoff over the credits (please, please, have that on the soundtrack) and the DVD when it comes out, because! Commentary! Woo!

I'm glad I missed Troy, after all. *G* Really, rating my crushes as they stand now, I realize I love Keira more than I do Orlando.

*laughs*

Well, between Keira and Orlando, she's definitely the better at acting. :)

well, that and she's more crushw_eyeliner July 11 2004, 19:50:04 UTC
animated in her interviews. Hollywood's really lobotomized Orli, from what I've seen of him lately, and it's sad, because I loved when he first appeared on the scene, with those horrific shirts and the fauxhawk, and he was just all eager and puppylike. And sincere. And he was *lovely*.

Nowadays it's more jaded, manwhorish vibes and less thought about the roles and no real range, and the obligatory lollipop brigade girlfriend.

it's just sad, really.

Oh well. there's still hope. For both of them in acting, actually - Keira's only 19, she's got plenty of time to learn more and Orlando..needs a good script and a good director.

You hadn't seen Samurai? It was lovely in the theaters, though I was stuck watching it down front. Cruise isn't the greatest actor, but his costars more than made up for that. And it was beautifully shot.

No, I DID see it in theatres, absolutely loved it then and still do. No, it's the first time I've watched it since, this time on dvd. :) Course, I've listened to the score a million times in between too... :)

Okay, this is budd's friend watching things over at alias_g_awards for him. He originaly wanted you to take cars of the community for him whille he went on vacay. Especial since you have a paid acount and can do polls. But he noticed how many communities you moderate and didnt want to burden you.

i'm glad to hear arthur was good, or at least satisfying, because i kinda want to see it. probably only because i have a huge crush on keira knightley, but whatever. :)

i wanted to tell you that i was in boston over the weekend and i briefly checked out emerson. it's VERY cool. great location right on boston common in this awesome old building, and with little cafes and stuff all around where i just imagine you scribbling in a notebook while you eat lunch. :)

If you have a crush on Keira Knightley, you will definitely like it then. :)

Oooooh, sounds fun! I so need to get off my ass though...

I wanted to ask you a favor though: would you be interested in beta-reading some of my non-novel stuff? postcard_life is helping me as well, but I'd like two opinions if possible. :)

Yeah, I'm not a big TC fan either, but like EW's review commented, his performance commanded respect. The whole movie I just adore and could watch many, many times. :)

Have you seen Riddick, yet?
