All of the controversy the last few weeks has been getting to Will. The Civil War was an unpleasant time for everyone. [ He knows what day it is, and was a little worried about how Will would handle it. Because of the memory wipe, he's a little unsure about what Will dealt with during that time... But he knows it's a touchy subject, so he kept quiet about most of it.

But when he sees Will kneeling at the oak tree, he's quick to join him, silently kneeling next to him while resting an assuring hand on his shoulder. ]

He doesn't quite start when Sven touches his shoulder, but he does stiffen a bit before returning to his silent prayer for the souls of those lost. He makes no sound, but he does relax against the touch.

[For him? The ends justify the means, and that the pain, suffering, and death, the skirting of the law... were somehow worth the glory and honor it brought to the state, not to mention the financial independence from the south.

It's easy to say that sort of thing though, when you were only barely attacked. But the jewel of his capitol is dedicated to all of them. So he feels no shame in admitting to himself the rewards their sacrifices brought.

Either way, he's carrying a bunch of peonies, and seeing Will, he scurries over.]
