The knives are slower than bullets. I know this because Kishimoto himself have stated that bullets are faster than ninjas. Well little Lady: I'm faster than bullets. Hence, the knives are deflected because I am too fast to be hit, but the bullets? They hit. Fair enough, I wasn't expecting that increase in speed, that was a new trick and I wasn't prepared.
But can you move faster than your bullets? Because if so, you might dodge me as I zoom towards the place where those bullets came from while I stab at any humanoid shapes I can see.*
OKAY: Let's break it down then. She has somehow attained superhuman speed. She has somehow booby-trapped an unknown amount of places in this here wood dammit is my hair on fire? o, wait, that's just my eyebrows and we can only assume there are a lot of booby-traps around here. Possibly, at every hiding place, nook, and cranny is a bomb, whatever that bomb was, waiting to go off.
This thought-process took three seconds. Three seconds where I stood perfectly still and guarded myself against every attack from every conceivable angle. Now for the counter attack: Temari Style. Remeber the Orbs of Cutting? Remember how they work at a distance?
I'll just go to town on this here wood and, as they say, level the playing field a little.*
*Once she figures out your plan, she's going to GTFO that bit of woods. She's in enough of a hurry that you may noticed she moved very quickly that away, but enjoy your inferno. Really.*
