One thing I have LOTS more time for while trying to rest away an illness is reading, and I have been BUSY with it lately! I’m also constantly on the lookout for new reading material (Hint Hint: suggestions welcome!). This week, my contribution to Thursday 13 is “13 Books on My To-Read List.” Here they are, in no particular order:

1. Dead and ( Read more... )

About the banana clip thing - I have a feeling life in Bon Temps is different than in the rest of the South and we all know Sookie marches to the beat of her own supernatural drummer! ;)

Although you know I adore the series and have for a long time I have to say I was actually not all that impressed with book #9. It felt kind of phoned-in, you know what I mean? Rushed through. I dunno, maybe it was just me? Hopefully #10 will be 'meatier'...I am definitely looking forward to it!

I read Rosemary's Baby in high school and LOVED IT. I still have my first edition printing copy of it around here somewhere. :)
Have you read Audrey Rose and Burnt Offerings, by any chance? How about Triad? I have a soft spot in my heart for cheesey 70's supernatural/horror novels. :)

Ugh, even in very different Bon Temps, I cringe at the mention of banana clips, pastel knit pantsuits, pastel slacks, etc. I posted basically this same comment in my blog, but I am now of the opinion that the characters' clothing and accessory choices need to be left to the imagination. It's not like they really add anything to the story most of the time.

It's too bad the next book was a letdown for you. I hope I still enjoy it, though.

I have heard of Audrey Rose and Burnt Offerings. I have never read either, but have seen the Bette Davis movie Burnt Offerings, is that the same thing? Never heard of Triad. Someone on my blog suggested Veronica's Room, also by Ira Levin. Have you heard of/read that one? I can't find a synopsis, but all the reviews I've read say it's pretty creepy.

I just finished reading The Thorn Birds...And if you havent read the Vampire Academy series, it's pretty good, much better than the Twilight series...and the 4th of THAT book comes out Tuesday.
I loved the Harris books BTW, but the 3rd book was my fave.
