How do I stay sane

when what I really want to do is curl up in the fetal position in a corner somewhere, rocking back and forth, and sucking my thumb? Retail thrift store therapy, of course!

Here is a part of my last two hauls:

Corelle cup. Thrifted 04/12/08. $1.99.

Is it Golden Butterfly, or some other Golden pattern? I am not all that familiar with Corelle patterns, but have seen a good many vintage Corelle dishes while out and about.

Thanks, I love it, too! My son bought it for himself, but later gave it to me. I can't wait to see pics of your thrifted goods!

We have some awesome second hand item stores around here. The last time I went shopping there I tagged some awesome and weird retro toys and some books i could not do without. (which happens to be most books, lol)

Importantly though book wise I tagged a complete and unabridged copy of Dracula by Bram Stoker.

A vintage Mickey Spillane book.- Survival Zero. (he does awesome gum shoe detective/crime novels)

A vintage copy of George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty Four.

And a copy of Phillip K Dick's Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. (which of course became the movie Bladrunner)

Next time i hit the store I will try and take some pics of what I get.

I hope to be getting a new desk and a couch or a couple of armchairs for this box I live in.

(oh and if I could travel long distances I would so be coming to get that clock from you since it has my baby photo on it)

Hahah, you are too funny! I love to hit the thrift stores and flea markets wherever I go :)

The monkey clock actually isn't a vintage item, just retro-inspired. It was my son's, and I am not sure why he gave it to me!
