26. Clovers
“I guess we can just run around the field a little bit. That is, if you don’t mind being in the sun.” Oh god, Jaejoong just hated being in the sun. It was hot and sweaty work, and he always ended up feeling faint and nearly fainting, not always in that order. Why does CJES want to kill him?
The concept of their photo shoot was ‘Away from the City’ and some genius thought that also meant getting sweaty and rolling around in the filthy dirt in the middle of some empty field. He asks again, does someone want him to die?
Junsu had it easy, he just ran around the open space playing his favorite sport with some of the staff. That little boy perspired instantly while still retaining his charismatic looks. With Yoochun, all the staff needed to do was provide some dogs in desperate need of attention and some relief. That dog lover walked the family of mix breeds around the area, a gleeful expression smacked on his face.
On the other hand, Jaejoong wanted nothing to do but pose in a tent.
Sure, he had arrived early with breakfast for everyone and played a little catch, but that was before the sun had risen above the trees. He’d also still been a little hung-over from the night before. Jaejoong might or might not have just driven to the location without any sleep. So maybe they didn’t want him dead, but he sure as fuck was not going to run around like an idiot just to bring out a manly sheen to his skin.
“Jaejoong, can you help us find some greens to decorate the table with?” Not one to deny the staff, Jaejoong reluctantly donned a hat and squat down in a match of weeds. He had no idea what he was putting into his hands when Yoochun launched him into the dirt he so hated.
“You’re a silly one, Jaejoongie, that’s poison ivy!” Yoochun released his grip on the bundle of dog leashes and crouched down next to where Jaejoong had painfully landed. “Come on, not those. Try some of these.” Such ambiguous words for people who knew nothing of camping and choosing appropriate foliage trim. Yoochun’s methods for picking weeds was the same as Jaejoong’s. Grab it and pull.
“I know for certain that clovers would not look good scattered across our picnic table.” Yoochun looked at the clovers in his hand, wet from morning dew and already starting to sag after their untimely death.
“Oh, well, if we add flowers to them then maybe -”
“-No, they won’t.” And just as Jaejoong had been enraged with their concept, Yoochun grew enraged with Jaejoong, flinging the clovers into his face. He stood up, brushing the wet dirt from his now stained knees and went away to search for the dogs.
“I know what I’m not getting on our anniversary this year.” Jaejoong snickered and started gathering the clovers again, steering clear of the poison ivy and sticking to the wonderful shade.
