Interesting, Vikkie, the full page of Post articles on Facebook's new policies didn't mention their possible launch of a crypto-currency. There are good reasons (albeit complicated ones) why Facebook should NOT go there.

"Pay Pal" and other credit/financial-transfer ops are already processing the Net's money needs pretty well. So-called central banks are the basic institution handling monetary policy ("creating money") worldwide; stabilizing the money supply is a sovereign task of governments.

I think Bitcoin and other extra-official currencies are by definition unstable; their exchange rates fluctuate hugely. And dangerously. Con games are all too easily crafted...

Oh, and speaking of the "Lizard King," did you see SNL's hilarious portrayal of Zuckerberg last night? He should sue!

Welcome back -- hope you had a good flight! Sorry "our team" fucked up AGAIN! Martinez seems to blame for the crummy pitching -- why hasn't he used their best guys as each game fell apart?

Hugs, J

Here's a further example of tech companies (it's author heads WhatsApp, which is owned by Facebook). The so-called NSO Group he discusses is an evident "bad guy" in corrupting the Web. Just as FB is keeping Google honest, so WhatsApp is disciplining NSO. (Sorry, blameless National Symphony Orchestra -- you got caught in the middle...)
