We love one particular national institution here in Washington, the Kennedy Center, and last evening we had a unique experience there. Fascinating! Measure for Measure, while still one of the least performed of Shakespeare's plays, actually has gained a resurgence of productions in the wake of the #MeToo movement, to mixed results (especially re: Donwar Warehouse's current, gender-swapping production).

Delighted you know "Measure for Measure" -- and I certainly take your point that the Bard seemingly anticipated the whole contemporary issue of sexual mistreatment of women. There's a curious irony in this adaptation being done with Moscow's Pushkin Theater -- given Putin's disgraceful attacks on gays and women (like Pussy Riot).
