And it really ought to scare anyone who likes to blog. Of course the cruise lines profit handily -- and have little incentive to offer better wi-fi service.
I loaded up a mini Dell laptop with a version of Ubuntu right before I converted it to a Hackintosh. I must say I rather liked the OS, despite its many flaws and handicaps. But that's just me.
I hope your stay in Calif was delightful, despite the various little drama events you and Joanne might have had.
Ooh, glad to meet someone else who likes Ubuntu. Its real advantage is that you don't run into a lot of the virus problems on Microsoft. But also it's so user-friendly.
Yes, CA was fun. I was born in Los Angeles, and grew up in the state. But it has changed so much. Once-little Huntington and the beach towns around it (we were briefly in Newport/Balboa -- OMG!) are opulent and teeming with people... My adopted state of Florida has parts that resemble CA, sure -- the whole of south FL is overwhelming, specially in winter -- but the central Atlantic region (the self-styled "Treasure Coast" where I live) is still cozy.
Dear Peaches (and you other sweet Ponies) -- thanks. I hadn't heard of Mint, but will keep it in mind if I cannot resolves the niggling issues (like, of all things, getting it to SCROLL! ).
Not sure what you mean about wi-fi and touch-screens "just" working -- is that on the Mint OS??
I do need to come round your delicious site to catch up...
Ah, thank you for the clarification, Peaches! I really will check on it -- anything to get scrolling (sic!) and a few other lost functions BACK!
BTW I was happy to visit again the Ponies' site, even if there were a mere two new posts. But they were wonderful, after the drought since Sept. Moreover, I got the EFFECT of a third post by visiting our Island pals. (And a fourth, counting THEIRS!)

No, NOT anony.mouse, but rather Justine, her own self. I admit that I personally wrote and posted the foregoing barely literate post. Goddess only knows WHY it made me a.mouse...
