I just friended a delightful girl -- "starshoegazer" (nope, no idea what her LJ-name means -- unless it's the old joke about looking at shiny "MaryJane" shoes to see up a girl's dress). I saw "star" on "theponytails" -- commenting on one of their posts.

Shoe Gaze: Genre of Modern Alt. Indie Music See: Mazzy Star, The Sundays, Mum, Bjork, The Verlaines, My Bloody Valentine, etc.

Shoegazer: Play on "navel gazer" one who contemplates themselves and their own existence to their own detriment, often to the derision of others.
