In Britain the Vespa was the preferred mode of transport of the Mod. The fights between Mods and Rockers during the early '60s are still remembered, but there was more to them than that. The short-haired, cardiganed, slightly androgynous look celebrated by fashion designers like Mary Quant are part of that style, and groups like THE WHO are still around.
