Well, I did look up the lyrics, and I think that in the song Daddy is telling Romeo to stay away from his daughter. Sorry about that. Mind you, that's not to say that she isn't more than the tiniest bit gay, at least if we believe all that talk about her and Karlie Kloss...

Yeah, Gary, I saw that take on the lyrics in context -- but it doesn't explain how a very official-looking outtake is out there emphasizing the double-meaning...

It's likely that she's well aware that she has a lesbian following and is cool with that. As far as I'm aware, she's never come out all guns blazing and denied anything. The clever thing about this outtake is that it is cleverly tantalising. "Yes, maybe I am, or then again maybe I'm not, or then again maybe I am..." Not knowing something for certain can be more fun than being sure.

Any lezzie following for Taylor is pretty much subsumed in her vast mob of fans. At least in my occasional looks at blogs about her on Twitter it's the zillions of young straight girls that I notice.

A not unreasonable conclusion, dear Flame -- though I'm still intrigued that she'd recycle an older song AND stress the ambiguous line in her current context. (Though I'm not sure if Karlie is still in her life...)

Besides, as a lesbian, I kinda like the idea of her being available -- however remote the possibility in personal terms.

Most likely she's bi, but the song is the theme song to the movie letters to Juliet.

Thanks, Bob -- hadn't heard of the movie, which has a pretty good cast and came out in 2010. Indeed, it has Taylor's song as part of what seems a really eclectic soundtrack (Wiki has the list).

I saw it with my mother-in-law and daughter. Of course when I talked about Verona they wanted to know if I went there with my wife....oops.
