The Daily Show -- sometimes Jon is serious about an issue!

My blogging about sexiness is one thing; vital medical support for our citizens is ANOTHER. Jon Stewart's Daily Show did a profoundly important segment the other day -- and I just found outtakes from it on Tumblr. In case you missed it, you lovely readers should check it out ( Read more... )

Well, you have to consider that in the House, there are 362 men and 76 women. In the Senate, there are 83 men and 17 women. Those men must not care much about their wives and daughters. OH WAIT -- those wives and daughters wouldn't have to use MEDICARE.

Same with abortion rights, they can afford to discretely send their daughters out of the country.

Indeed, I'm sure that's common on "the Hill" -- goddess knows, those guys can protect their own daughters. (While also getting their "penis pumps" -- that being Jon's and Samantha's point of argument. But OTHER citizens and THEIR children? Nah -- too profitable to suck up to "Right to Life" and the fucking Tea Partiers.

The sound that you heard is my jaw dropping! They can't afford to fund sexual healthcare for women, but if you're a guy you can get one of these penis pumps on medicare! (and I'll bet that they cost more to the tax-payer when they're purchased that way...) It's not even subtle or hidden sexism, it's right out there, upfront sexism. I do get the feeling that the American far-Right believes that sex is a constitutional right for guys, but that anything connected with the female reproductive system is rather icky, and possibly even un-American.

Actually that's probably nicer than the truth. Sex in their conservative minds is solely for the purpose of procreation. Gotta keep guys functioning or you might miss out on a change of life baby.

And the resulting kid has a much greater chance of autism and other ailments, according to new research. We should ban penis pumps -- and fucking Viagra -- as dangerous to progeny.

Gosh, Gary, one can live outside the good ol' USA -- and still be saner than most of our politicians. Honestly, three-quarters of the pols here ought to be diselected at the first opportunity. With any luck this year, we'll nail Senate Minority Leader McConnell (thanks to Republicans' particular idiocy in his case) and other turkeys.

Starting next year, Maryland will require mandatory coverage for fertility treatments and hair prosthesis.

Maryland has also cracked down on abortion providers -- and their legislators spend most of their time setting up OTB and casinos -- the better to relieve the poor of their loose cash. A pretty retrograde place -- although they have been implementing Obamacare better than most states. (Kentucky being the OTHER decent implementer...)

Is the hair prosthesis connected to a particular medical diagnosis, such as cancer? Or can anyone with limited hair get one?

I believe that it has been clarified as for cancer patients, but when it was first announced it seem broader than that.
