WORST Rose Parade Coverage on TV -- EVER !!!

Jan 01, 2014 13:25

NBC's coverage this year was the worst I remember! Al Roker is getting senile, I swear! But the tech glitchs were beyond belief! At one point, NBC's own float, touting its "The Voice" talent show (which I NEVER watch), stopped in front of Roker and he dutifully announced that this year's winner would perform. After five minutes of genial-but-spacy ( Read more... )

shame, sharing, decisive moment, horror show

I didn't watch it. I find most televised parades kind of tacky anyway. I wanted to watch it though to see if any of the demonstrations panned out. But I just let it go.

I hope you recorded the ABC coverage, which was good -- see my other comment!

the ABC wasn't much better, the sound kept cutting out on the people in the booth like they got drowned out by the floats or bands and stuff. Sucked.

Worst of all, it turns out, we weren't even shown the top-prize winner, the one sponsored by Public Storage and featuring a wild spaceship with three adorable alien characters -- each able to drive off the spaceship in their own little rocket vehicles. At a friend's home, we saw outtakes from the ABC coverage -- totally better!

The best coverage for The Rose Parade is the local broadcast on KTLA out of Los Angeles with Bob Eubanks and Stephanie Edwards. They show it the first time all the way through commercial free then replay it with commercials through the day.

That 4 in 1 float was amazing.

Thanks, sweetie! I had the exact same advice from a girl at a neighbor's open house this afternoon. Supposedly I can find the KTLA stuff on their Website, which I'll try tomorrow.

I didn't see the 4-in-1 float, but did catch outtakes of the cutest float -- the cartoon-like spaceship sponsored by Public Storage (see my other reply here).

Yes, the Yahoo account certainly parallels my experience... too bad I didn't know about the HGTV coverage.
