A fatpack is a bunch of several similar clothes/shoes/whatever that you bundle together as one lot to sell in a shop in SL. e.g. if you make the same shoes in 5 different colours, you might sell them altogether as a fatpack. Here, I'm making the plain Luglio-shape top in about 6 different ways, so that the colours can be tweaked and polka dots or stripes or whatever applied later.
The colourful gizmo on the floor is actually my shop billboard, but due to a bug in SL, it appears bad for me and correct for everyone else. It should look like this:
It's actually "gubbins" - my mistake. Maybe it's both really? http://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/british/gubbins describes it as "a collection of objects that are not important", but in common UK parlance, I'd say it meant something like "the mystery goings-on inside a gadget like a car engine or a computer".
I made a bit of an SL breakthrough yesterday. I made a posh carrier bag that a person can wear and walk around with, but it also may contain items for later unpacking. In other words, a customer can buy a swimsuit from my shop that arrives in their hand in a carrier bag, they can put it down and get the swimsuit out, then put other things in the bag if they like and give it to someone else. Best of all, I can walk around carrying it in busy locations, thus 'accidentally' ending up talking about swimwear to strangers...!
I'd never run across the word in my comings and goings through Her Majesty's Realm. I'm amused that Cambridge cites the classic word WE would use over here: "crap."
I guess I'm happy with the "SL breakthrough" -- but what do you mean by "later unpacking"?
And, my dear, you have unwittingly found the perfect title for your memoirs: "talking about swimwear to strangers"...
