As I tend to design about 4 versions of everything, I had planned for 4 models to wear 4 versions of one type of swimsuit, strut around the pool, change into another type and repeat at 5-minute intervals. Here you see me (right) and Shayna wearing the Portofino in 2 colours, Kara & Elisha wearing the Kristy in 2 colours. I didn't quite have enough models to go around or time to change, so we muddled up whatever we had and went with it. The show still seemed to go down well with the audience even though I was in a bit of a flap trying to find outfits and any extra models. For people with amazing computers, such as the photographer here, I guess the show looked a lot better than it did from my end.
I'm so much in awe of the possibilities of Second Life, sweetie, that your lbackstage commentary triggers musings about What It All Means.
Just for starters, I see amazing possibilities for people to "try out" their personal directions. For some, it could be a destination; for others a side trip.
Human psyches presumably will lag behind the tech advances, and the sheer possibilities will become a crutch for some -- and a compelling narcotic for all too many. For those of us who are impatient or uneducable, shady operators could spring up to offer us a fix -- and they will extort huge sums for Acapulco Gold for a maximum hit that only lasts a day -- or an hour. Then we turn to criminality to support our habit...
Oh, and for J, you're quite right about SL. It's an amazing place to try new things just for a "taste". I know a lot of people who have discovered new parts of themselves, and it's made them happier, myself included! I'm going to be doing a set of SL photos pretty soon. I'll let you know when they're up. -L
Hey, didn't know you were into SL, Leah -- pretty cool! I'd love to feature your work.
Do you plan to put up the photos on Flickr (as Karen and my other SL friends do)? If not, you might want to look at Scott Church's LJ, in which he posts his wonderful photos (like "Sandy" yesterday -- see above). As I found out, they are even easier to blog than the ones on Flickr...
