tired, but otherwise content. so i thought i'd share a tired, contented ( gem )

i just like this ( poem )

it has been a while since i posted a poem here, but it's because it has been some time since i found a worthy one. also, i was encouraged last night that people actually read and enjoy these little beauties and so i felt inspired to provide something pleasurable. ( this )

sometimes i feel my heart open.
unhinge, as improbable and terrifying
as a snake's jaw dropping
at feeding. plenty of room for pensive, pursed lips
across the table, and more
for the lush corridor of a smile,
the remembered palace of a kiss.
