i rode all the way to this coffee shop so that i could have a reliable wireless network and relative peace to do the meticulous work of coding my data and have just discovered that i forgot my headphones. i have half a mind to simply turn around and go home. i have no idea how i'm supposed to get in the zone without my music. i am so, so irritated

And you shouldn't ever have to take shit! Just be careful and weigh the circumstances. If you feel you have some backup (and you did), don't take shit. If you don't have back up, raise hell with those who should have done something when you are in a safe place. I'm proud of you!
