You left out sexism here, D. I live in a vacuum. I just heard about this last night on the news. And hasn't Don Imus always been like this, so why was anyone surprised. There is a pervasive nastiness in radio in particular that seems to be acceptable.
I don't like meanness in anyone, of any color. Had this not been on the news, though, I wouldn't have known the Rutger team's story, and what an incredible story it is! Inspirational and full of heart.
And, I don't think Imus has a heart, so they may as well stop looking for it.

Oh I didn't forget about sexism, its just that race is what i've seen people be the most woefully inarticulate about. Generally, people's comments about the obviously sexist nature of the comment and the show in general have been coherently made. At least from what I've seen.

But you're right about a general acceptance and encouragement of this kind of talk radio where meanness more than anything else is the shtick. Because the only way to avoid the great boogie of political correctness is to leave all your home training at the door--I mean civility is sooo passe, right.

Ick.Barf.

You're right, the only good bit of info to come from all this is the awesomeness of the Rutgers women.
