for mouth hurty, swish warm saltwater around for 5 minutes 3-6 times a day until it goes away.

You may have an infection or irritation. The saltwater will help keep it clean and encourage healing. It will also help kill in infections you might have developed in said socket.

If your tooth broke during the extraction or if the extraction was difficult (i.e. they had trouble removing the tooth) it could be either a bone shard or a broken piece of tooth working it's way out. I've had both and they suck as it's annoying.
