Tomorrow starts the 972nd Freimarkt in Bremen. Freimarkt literally means free market and is also called Bremen's fifth season. It is not the biggest fair in Germany (4 million visitors), but definitely the oldest!

Hi, I'm new here. I lurked for a while, but figured I should comment on this post at least since I'm from Bremen.

I go to the Freimarkt every year and almost always to the Osterwiese. But I don't ride the carousels at all (sensitive stomach), I rather play games (yay, Time Bingo), get plushies from the crane games (they have gotten so much harder through the years) and eat some stuff I normally don't get (like Schmalzkuchen).
