1) Where are you in the world? Australia Where else have you lived? Vietnam for a total of approximately 2 months
2) Been to Germany? Nope Plans to go? Maybe in the future if I can afford it and have time to.
3) How old are you? 14 years old. Student? Yes. Working? Nope. Neither/both?
4) What draws you to Germany, the language, the culture, how did you first get interested? I was interested in the Holocaust but I like watching Inspector Rex too. I also saw the Producers. Funny.
5) Do you speak German, are you learning, want to learn? I don't speak German but I like listening to it. I'm not learning any languages at the moment, just picking up bits and pieces.
6) Anything else you'd like to say? Um...I find Europe fascinating in general. The culture, the food, the languages and more are just amazing. I'd like to learn more.

In Australia the Abitur would be called the HSC in some places and the VCE in Victoria.
In the UK it would be the A Levels.
And in the US, finals?
But "Abitur" is actually just the exams, rather than the whole year.. oder?

Thanks for the explanations ^_^
Yes, usually it's just the exams... But some people still say you're trying to get your Abitur even if you're not in your last school year... You just have to at least be in the 11th grade ^_^ Well, at my school it's like that...

Attempt number two!

1) Where are you in the world? Where else have you lived? I'm in New Brunswick, Canada. For a short time I lived in Vancouver BC.
2) Been to Germany? Plans to go? I was in Berlin for nine days last summer. I'm trying to convince myself that I can go again in October, this time on my own.
3) How old are you? Student? Working? Neither/both? I'm 31 and I'm the assistant manager in a bookstore
4) What draws you to Germany, the language, the culture, how did you first get interested? I will admit that I first got into Germany because of the band Rammstein. Now I'm hooked.
5) Do you speak German, are you learning, want to learn? I'm slowly learning the language. I surprise myself at how much I actually understand now. I want to learn everything!
6) Anything else you'd like to say? I'm always looking for new friends!

Introduction lorentis September 7 2007, 13:51:52 UTC
Hello, I am from, and live in the state of Missouri, in the United States. I've never been to Germany, but plan to go as soon as I get my last child through the university. I am 49 years old, and work, although I'm always studying something on my own. I'm drawn to Germany because half my family, on my mother's side, is German. On that side of my family, I am a second generation American. My mother was born here, but my grandparents were not. I don't speak German, although I studied in school. That's been too long ago for me to remember much, other than the translation of a few words. I keep telling myself that "someday" I will start my studies again, but I never seem to. Perhaps being in contact with others interested in Germany, and things German, will motivate me to action.
