Glühwein (literally: Glow Wine) is a German holiday tradition often served at the Christmas Markets. It is prepared from red wine, which is heated and spiced with cinnamon sticks, cloves, citrus fruit and sugar. Awwww, the memories! :)
I was shopping in the Königsstraße area of Stuttgart last Oktober, and they had an outdoor iceskating rink, and the Glühwein...it was delicious :) Wish we could get some here :( I feel that if I tried to make some myself, my lack of culinary skills would fail. LOL

I feel the same way. I think I wouldn't make it as tasty either. In Lübeck last year I got to keep the little boot the Glühwein came in! It was sweet. :)

You got to keep yours? Awesome! Ours in Stuttgart just came in mini mugs and we have to give them back. :( Would've made an awesome souvenir though! Damn, I am really craving some Glühwein right now - sucks living on the wrong side of the pond! *pouts*
