Those overhead pictures of the Arizona and the Missouri are an amazing juxtaposition. I'm glad they did it that way, but it's almost creepy. I think I'd like to go to Hawaii someday and see for myself.
My grandfather was a Pearl Harbor survivor. He only spoke publically (or privately, for that matter) once, for his hometown paper in 1991, for the 50th anniversary, as he was one of about a hundred extant New York survivors at that time. I have his "New York Pearl Harbor" survivor licence plate, #59. He died in 1996. I never got the chance to pick his brain.
